CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS. VICTORIA GOLF CLUB 16th OCTOBER 2015
Twenty one members enjoyed a perfect day for golf at the challenging Victoria Golf Club.
Greg Cullen, the winner, played extremely well by completing the back nine in 36 strokes for a final score of 41 stableford points. A great effort as he won in 2014 and again this year.
Garth Jacoby fought valiantly but ended up second on 40 points. He had the last laugh however by beating Greg Cullen by 1 point to win the annual Order of Merit (OOM) Cup. Last year Garth shared first prize in the OOM with Richard Alderson.
Joe Joyce played well to finish third on the day on 38 points. Nearest the pin was Jason Faulkner and longest drive went to Terry Corrigan.
Half of the group stayed on for dinner at the club and had a lively time, and left by 9.30

THE 2015 SANDY-ELIZA GOLF CUP ANNUAL CHALLENGE BETWEEN THE MT ELIZA CLUB AND THE SANDRINGHAM CLUB. MAY 29th 2015
A perpetual cup, known as the SANDY-ELIZA GOLF CUP, is competed for at the annual teams event between the Mt Eliza Country Club (MECC) and the Sandringham Club.
In May 2015 the Mt Eliza Country Club defeated the Sandringham Club on the panoramic Flinders Golf Club by 182 to 160 points. It was a dry and sunny day and the deep blue ocean with magnificent surf was a delight to gaze upon throughout the game (unlike some of the golf being played).
The best Sandringham Club player was Peter Calder with 35 points followed by Nick Tunbridge on 32 and Paul Rimmer and Richard Alderson on 30 points. Nick Tunbridge won nearest to the pin.
Peter Calder's prize was $300 worth of golf buggy and accessories. MECC were excellent hosts and worked hard to make the day the great success it was.

COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS. SORRENTO GOLF CLUB. March 13th 2015
A wonderful golf day at Sorrento was enjoyed in mid-March, full of bravado, controversy (as always), a noisy dinner and top quality golf thrown in for good measure. Thanks to Sorrento GC members Ken Oliver and Peter Wilson for hosting members on the day. The course was in immaculate condition and the dinner was enjoyed by everyone.
Congratulations to the winner Peter Wilson on 39 stableford points. Second was Hawk Andersson who played excellent golf and earned 41 points, however he does not have a Golf Australia Handicap and could not be declared the winner. Tony Brosnahan, 36 points, was third. Nearest the Pin was Tony Read and longest drive went to Christian Bell. The much coveted (not) Narga Award was shared between Russell Smith and Paul Miller.

PLAY AND STAY ON THE BELLARINE PENINSULA NOVEMBER 12th to 14th, 2015
Normally this three day, stay away event, consists of 12 players but in 2015 only 8 stayed and played. As normal Richard Alderson's beach house at Breamlea provided a wonderful base for the two night/3 day stay. On the two evenings meals were enjoyed, provided by Russ Eason and Rusty Smith, washed down with plenty of beer and wine.
The event was played over Curlewis GC and both the Thirteenth Beach GC Resort courses, The Creek Course and the Beach Course.
Wind played a decided factor, especially at Thirteenth Beach, where the 16th hole on the Beach Course proved most troublesome so
much so that the scorer wasn't bothered for the whole field!
Best - Greg Cullen
Runner-up - Tony Read
Best par 3's - Greg Cullen
Best par 4's - Richard Alderson
Best par 5's - Nick Tunbridge
